Brooklyn turned 4 in January. On her actual birthday we had Dora cupcakes and went swimming. Someone in our ward watched Jackson while we were at the pool. And we had a wonderful time swimming with the kids. Then a couple of days later she had a Dora party with all of her friends. When her friends arrived they received a backpack (that Brooklyn and I made) and then once everyone was there we started our adventure. The Map told us we needed to go find the balloons, then alligator lake, and then the tree. At each location there would be some treasure to put in our backpacks.  On our way to the basement of balloons we met Swiper. The girls knew exactly what to do and quickly said, "Swiper, no swiping!" Once we found the balloons the girls had to pop them to get their bubbles. Watching a bunch of four years olds try to pop balloons was very funny. After the balloons we headed for Alligator Lake. On the way there we ran into the Grumpy old troll. To get past him we had to solve his riddle. The girls solved his riddle and each got a little card game. And of course we saw swiper again. Once at alligator lake the girls figured out how to build a bridge with different shapes to get across. One girl was very scared of the alligators and we had to carry her across. Then we were off the to the tree where the girls found beautiful bracelets. Then on to the cake. Notice that all the kids birthdays for the past two years have been Diego or Dora cakes. They love both of them. Brooklyn even got a Diego rescue center for Christmas. Brooklyn and her friends all had a wonderful time. The Dora theme was a huge hit.
