Tyson Nibley Stoddard arrived on August, 28th at 3:03 am, weighing in at 8lbs 5oz and 20 3/4 inches long.  His middle name Nibley comes from his Great Grandpa Vernon Nibley Stoddard.

Tyson is doing very well. His siblings are adjusting well and his little face lights up when they come to give him loves.  Tyson weighed 7lbs 13 oz when we left the hospital on Thursday and had a weight check on Saturday and was 8lbs 1oz. He is eating well and sleeping great and doesn't seem to mind the chaos and loud noises his brothers create. 

Some of you have been wondering how the labor was this time around, so I will try and fill you in.  We went into the hospital early the morning of August 27th  to be induced. When we first got there they started by hooking me and the baby up to the monitors but they couldn't find a heartbeat.  The nurse tired for what seemed like a super long time to find a heart beat while I silently prayed that everything was ok with my baby and tried not to freak out. She had no luck finding a heartbeat so she left to get an ultrasound machine. Luckily with the ultrasound machine she was able to pick up the heartbeat. After finding the heartbeat she attempted to get an iv in me. After two attempts she got another nurse who was able to get it in on the third try. I was finally induced  at around 9am after being stuck three times to get the IV in.  They then checked to see how dilated I was and I was a three. This was much better than the one I was the week before. I thought maybe with all ready being a three this might be a faster process but I wasn't getting my hopes up. I knew I was in for the long haul just like my others.

So we started the day off by watching Hairspray and then Newsies.  I spent the day in and out of bed walking and bouncing on a ball. It didn't seem to matter what I did, nothing seemed to speed the process up. At 7:40 pm, they finally broke my water and kicked up the pitocin some more.  An hour or so after that I finally got an epidural. I have had them multiple times before but this time didn't start off great. It took 5 times to get it in and by that point my back hurt so bad. Still does and was told it will probably hurt for awhile. I have never had pain from an epidural like I did this time around.

Eighteen hours later it was finally time to push.  It only took three good pushes to get him out. He was a little harder to get out because he came out with his hand up at his face as well as the cord being wrapped around his neck. Because of the cord he wasn't breathing and the nurses quickly took him and worked on him. It took a few minutes but they were finally able to get him breathing on his own. What a relief. 

Between my seizure, him being breech, not finding a heartbeat, and the cord being wrapped around his neck this has been my scariest pregnancy yet, but was well worth all the stress and anxiety to have little Tyson in our home. He is such a blessing and we are very grateful to have him join our family.
