Olympic Kick Off

This year we decided to do something fun to kick off the olympics. We started with each person picking a countries flag and coloring it and taping it to a straw. The kids thought this was great and the flags have been seen often throughout the Olympics. Some people chose much better countries than others as far as being represented in the Olympics.

After making our flags we had a parade of countries. Check out the video below.

Then we watched the opening ceremonies while enjoying
m&ms in the olympic ring colors and eating popcorn.

The kids really enjoyed watching the Olympics and cheering for the USA or the country they picked.  Brooklyn's favorite event was of course gymnastics. She has tried to do lots of different tricks and floor routines like Jordyn and Gabby. Brady really liked the swimming. He would pretend to dive off the fireplace and swim around the living room, while Jackson liked the track running events. When the gun would go off he would run circles on the living room floor. Mom can't wait until the winter olympics where she hopes Norway will do much better than they did in the Summer Olympics.
